Greetings, fans of Gallby. I have been remiss in posting lately. Want to know why? Because I’ve been eating pizza and ice cream and sausage and all other kinds of foods I was told I would never be able to eat again. It’s been 3 months and I’m shocked at how quickly my gallbladder has responded to a a little love and care.
I’ve been slowly introducing naughty foods, mostly just to test Gallby’s response. So far, it appears Gallby is as good as new.
We still have the hard work ahead of dissolving the Gallstones, but I certainly feel much less stressed about it. So while it is unclear if I will eventually have to have my gallbladder removed for other reasons, the strategies I’ve used here at Keepin’ My Gallby have bought me time. I’ve read numerous times that gallstones are discovered during autopsies on otherwise healthy people; people who never showed symptoms or had any clue they had gallstones in the first place.
I want to quickly emphasize the core supplements I’ve used as I believe they were a big part of my success. I strongly recommend you see a doctor, chiropractor, or nutritionist with a good background in nutrition and healing to forge a regimen, but here are the actual core products I’ve used. All of them are helpful in stimulating digestions, thinning the bile, and encouraging the gallbladder to function. All of them are available online:
Standard Process Disodium Phosphate: 3 tablets first thing in the morning before eating anything

MetaGenics Lipogen: 2 tablets with each meal

MetaGenics Metagest (Hydrochloric Acid): 1 tablet with each meal

Standard Process Cholac0l: 2 Tablets with each meal

My general feeling on supplements is that you should not take anything for too long. I took these regularly, but tried to skip a day every few weeks. It’s been 3 months and I am now stopping them slowly, taking them only every 3 days.

I just realized today that something is up with my gallbladder. It is pretty obvious, with the occasional nausea (and sometimes vomiting) after eating fatty foods combined with that pain, right where it is supposed to be. Unfortunately, I don’t have good health insurance (none, basically), so I’d really like to avoid having surgery, if for nothing more than to not spend all that $$$! I started searching and came across this blog, and I intend to read it from the very beginning. I am hoping that I have caught it early enough that it can be reversed – I am in much less pain (*knock on wood*) with less frequent attacks than you, so if you can reverse it, I should be able to as well. I will be going to see a doctor, just like you did, just to make sure I want to/can keep it. I am commenting on your last entry, from April 22, 2012. It’s been almost a year. Healed? I want an update!!! 🙂

All I can tell you is that I drank nothing but carrot/beat/apple juice cocktails for about 48 hours, then went and had an ultrasound of my gallbladder done – and it came back negative! I’d like to think that the juice cured me (and not that there is a problem that just didn’t show up on the test). My gallbladder does feel 100% better though! I am still feeding myself good, bladder healthy foods, just to be safe. This has been a big eye opener for me and I will continue to eat healthy – a huge lifestyle change. Also, I have been gluten and dairy free for 9 days!

I had 4 attacks in one month. I was recently diagnosed with gallstones. The last one 2 weeks ago, lasted 2 hours (had a roasted vegetable soup from a restaurant and it triggered an attack instead). Must have been loaded with dairy. I am now very careful about where and what I eat. I also tested to see if I was jaundice which came back low. Your site reminded me (followed Cayce for years) to start using castor oil packs. Within 3 treatments I immediately started feeling relief. I have completely altered my diet and drink lemon water (alkaline) first thing every morning and sip on peppermint tea during the day. All of this has begun a healing process. I consulted with 3 doctors who have all told me I need to remove my gallbladder. But I am still feeling better and want to continue my journey this way. Any advice? Your website has given me hope!

Hi (thanks again for your blog!!) regarding your supplements, i’m having a hard time with the links and finding the actual supplement and strength you used. Can you let me know how much HCL? How much disodium phosphate? What do you know about Lecithin as supplement to increase bile acid for dissolving the stones? What other supplements were key? I’m taking ‘GallstoneX’ in addition to HCL. What else is most important?

Hi Lisa,
The HCL & DP were the critical ones. You should find a good nutritionist to help you with the dosage. The HCL can hurt if you take too much of it. Work with a nutritionist if you are going to take those.

Hi,
I had a gallbladder attack about 2 years ago, found this blog and have been following the supplement and food list. I work in a naturopathic office so I have access to the rx and advice from the doctors here. I have to thank you for posting your story….the blog has been ever so incredibly helpful!

Is there any way you could list the active ingredients in the products you took just so we could find something similar?

I just wanted to thank you for posting all this. It was really helpful while I was healing my own gallby. Lol I loved that you named it and added a bit of humor to this long road. I hope you never take this site down so as many other people who need the info can get it. Thanks for posting this!
